The most useful difference is not quality, which neither page lets us judge, but how each service charges and how you receive the files.

Where the two sellers differ

• Pricing model: iMemories lists a price per videotape, per 50 feet of film, and per photo, with optional paid extras. Legacybox sells boxes sized for 2, 10, 20, or 40 items at a fixed price per box.
• What counts as an item: iMemories prices tapes, film lengths, and photos separately. Legacybox counts each tape, reel, or set of photos as an item toward the box size. Check how a stack of loose photos is counted before comparing totals.
• Formats: both list VHS-family tapes, 8 mm and Super 8 and 16 mm film, prints, slides, and negatives. Legacybox also lists audio formats, documents, memory cards, and other media. iMemories does not list audio in the captured text.

Questions to settle before choosing

Count your media the way each seller counts it

Sort tapes, reels, and photos and total them under both pricing models. A per-box price can be cheaper for many mixed items and dearer for a few long tapes; a per-item price does the opposite.

Decide how you want the files back

If you want files on your own drive, confirm the download or USB option and its cost. If you want to stream on a television, confirm which service supports that and whether it needs a subscription.

Confirm handling of originals

Ask each company in writing whether originals come back, how they are shipped, and how loss or damage is handled. Neither page answers this.
